Lector Ministry

Lectors

The Lectors get up to proclaim the Scripture readings at Mass. They read the announcements at the beginning of Mass and proclaim two readings, one from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament, and read the Universal Prayer. This is done for the weekend Masses as well as on Holy Days of Obligation. Lectors can be students or adults

A good lector is one with a strong speaking voice and who knows how to pace the reading so it makes sense to the congregation. A great lector reads with an interesting style and can be heard at the back of the church.

If you are interested in becoming a Lector, please contact the Parish Office at 440-884-2319.
